Research carried out in the lab relates mainly to nanotechnologies but covers a wide range of areas from chemistry, biochemistry, materials science, and physics. In most of our projects, Raman spectroscopy is used as an advanced characterisation tool and some research is also aimed at understanding and improving this technique and other related spectroscopy tools.

The experimental equipment of the Raman Lab is accessible to other researchers in the SCPS and the MacDiarmid Institute, allowing them to carry out state-of-the-art Raman spectrosocopy as an additional tool in their research.
